「Style Inspiration」 This is an extraordinary and remarkable example of framed Japanese Oshie art! This 3D Japanese handicraft depicts a farm girl carrying a bail of wheat on her head. Multi layers of padded material making it life like. What is so impressive is that most of the little pieces of material are hand painted with incredible detail. The face is delicate with slender brows and eyes. The art work is so crisp and clean. This wrapping picture is mounted directly on fancy card board called Shikishi. The creator is stamped in right hand corner.
「History」 A traditional Japanese handcrafted decorative art form using high quality silk and brocade fabrics, known as oshie (押絵/押し絵, literally, "pressed pictures") has been used to create this magnificent piece. Oshie resembles a carefully crafted jigsaw puzzle consisting of numerous pieces of kimono fabric padded with slightly varying thickness of cotton and painstakingly glued and ironed together to create an incredible three-dimensional picture. In the final process, the details are accentuated by painting and shading, and facial features are painted in miniature-like exactitude.
「Dimension」 12.7" H x 10.1" W x 0.5" D
「Condition」 Lower left corner has a water mark. Otherwise in very good vintage condition.
