「History」 She is wearing a "court dress" a ceremonial gown worn during formal occasions when the Emperor and Empress holds court. It is also known as a "Feng Pao" (Phoenix gown). Phoenix is the symbol of the Empress, which can be found on her embroidered dress and the thrown on either side. Embroidered in blue is the fortune cloud and wave motifs, which in addition to its auspicious meanings, also carries the message of "unification of mountains and rivers" and "eternal peace". A "chao zhu" hangs around her neck - a long ceremonial necklace usually made of pearls from the Eastern sea.
