Wonderful cricket box with a gorgeous patina and pierced quatrefoil pattern. The box is octagon shaped (eight sides) and the pattern is on all sides including the lid. There is a wonderfully carved handle and latch. Would fit right in a boho chic room. Its large capacity is also super useful for organization, as a jewelry box or to store tea bags.

「History」
This ornate brass cage was designed to house a cricket. Crickets were considered good luck, and this would allow the owner to take his pets with him wherever he went. The lid opens up to allow ease of entry/exit. And perforated holes are cut out for air flow.
